What is legionella actually? Legionella is the name of a bacterium wich can occur in all natural fresh water systems. Legionella is present in small quantities in our drinking water and is not dangerous as long as the water is colder than 20 degrees Celsius, warmer then 60 degrees Celsius or chlorinated. The presence of legionella bacteria is only dangerous for health when the contaminated water is atomised. This way the legionella bacteria could be inhaled.			If the water has a temperature between the 25 and 55 degrees Celsius, the number of legionella bacteria will grow quickly. The optimum temperature for the bacterium is 42 degrees Celsius. Legionella bacteria form colonies when the water stands still for a longer period of time. The Hatuguard system measures water temperatures of the waterworks in a building very frequently, for example every 5 minutes. This way it is possible to determine if legionella bacteria could be present in a certain area of the drinking water system. Needless and preventively rinse of waterworks are no longer necessary. Also time-consuming measuring by hand will be past. All measured temperatures will be registered and can simply be processed to reports. Also alarms and automated actions such as opening reel flaps can be programmed into the Hatuguard system. The Hatuguard system is managed with a standard internet browser.
